Our Commitment to Sustainable Materials

At TheManEssens by Diania, sustainability is part of how we choose our materials and partners. From natural wood and cork accessories to bamboo viscose apparel, we look for materials and practices that are kinder to the planet without compromising quality or style. We continue to review our products, packaging, and supply chain so we can make better choices over time.

Wood

Our Diania eyewear and watches are crafted from responsibly sourced natural wood, including bamboo and layered oak and walnut. Each piece carries a unique grain pattern, making it one of a kind. We use recycled wood scraps sourced from certified suppliers to minimise waste.

Cork

Cork is harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without cutting them down, making it one of the most renewable natural materials on earth. It is naturally water-repellent, lightweight, vegan, and biodegradable as a material. Our cork products are vegan-friendly and use cork as their primary exterior material. Depending on the design, small supporting components are also needed: our cork products use polyester thread in their construction, and some use a silicone-based water-repellent finish.

Bamboo Viscose

Spun Bamboo's underwear, boxer shorts, briefs, and socks are crafted from bamboo viscose — a silky-soft fabric derived from one of the world's fastest-growing plants. Bamboo requires no pesticides, minimal water, and naturally replenishes itself without replanting.

How We Keep Improving

  • Choose natural and lower-impact materials wherever practical.
  • Minimise plastic and plastic-derived fabrics and products whenever possible, including reviewing polyester and other supporting components.
  • Keep packaging simple and reduce unnecessary plastic where our suppliers and carriers allow.
  • Work with suppliers to document product materials more clearly and improve the options available to us over time.
  • Favor durable designs that can stay in use for a long time.
